The Nex Flow™ KTW Air Flow Saver Pulse System is a joint venture between Nex Flow and KTW to provide a pulsing system with the potential to reduce the cost of compressed air to the cost of operating a blower in many blow off applications due to not only the pulsing action but with the built in feature to turn the air supply on only when the product is there to clean or dry.  The realtime valve works without pneumatic action, and with no  needle, no  spring or spindle.   The only moving parts are one to three calibers which are controlled by a high speed solenoid output stage.
While the Air Flow Saver is sensitive to back pressure as other pulse systems, it is significantly less sensitive and guidelines are provided for installation.   The frequency can be as high a 40 hz but is set for a specific application. The Air Flow Saver valve is corrosion free, has a large dynamic range, and can be used for all media, not just for compressed air.  For compressed air applications there are two options:

Applications

Specific applications where this new pulse system can save significant energy:

  1. Drying discrete, packaged products that are on conveying lines and that are spaced apart so the incorporated on-off system setting will of great benefit
  2. Cleaning and drying of parts with oily residue where the amplified force and scrubbing action can remove the sticky material.
  3. Cleaning rough surfaces like wood where the pulsing (scrubbing action) can help to remove sticky and stuck  debris
  4. Part ejection of heavy parts on conveying systems utilizing the extra amplified force.
  5. Combining the pulse system with air knives and static eliminators with the scrubbing action cleaning parts in the semiconductor industry and in plastic painting operations such as plastic auto bumpers, door panels and instrument clusters.
